The Ballon d’Or deal between France football and FIFA has ended, the French publication and worldfootball’s governing body announced on Friday.

FIFA and L’Équipe have not renewed their arrangement to organise the trophy – voting for which will return to journalists. FIFA may recover the FIFA World Player award.

According to reports in Nigeria, a 19-year-old girl has been arrested by Lagos police after she apparently swindled two people out of over 10 Million Nairas by pretending to be Nigerian superstar Wizkid.

According to Pulse Nigeria, the woman had been running a social media account using the pop star's name and image and had even negotiated bookings with people interested in having the star perform at their events.
Two of the girl's victims are from outside of Nigeria, police revealed on Wednesday.

"The two victims are outside Nigeria. Members of the public should be very careful on sending money to people they met online. The lady collected money from people in the United States and they thought they were paying money to Wizkid to come and perform. They did not know they were dealing with fraudsters,"Lagos State Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni said in a statement.

The arrest comes after the rapper was reported to have missed a scheduled event in London late last month.

After news of his no-show made the news, Wizkid apparently asked police to investigate the matter, culminating in the arrest this week.

Wizkid manager and the singer filed applications to police. Presently we get reports of the girl being arrested. She studies at Delta State University. A police officer named Sunday Are got her when she arrived in Lagos.

She planned on getting $25 000 more for the next Wizkid show from an Australian guy. Formerly they had a hard time catching her, as she would mainly get the money via electronic payment systems. This time, she got too greedy and decided to play hard to get 25 grand.
What is more amazing, this fraud went on for over 3 years. The girl “played” Wizkid on social media and got money from his fans. Presently the police have at least two proven cases against her of taking 53 000 and 12 500 US Dollars from foreign fans. Meanwhile, real Wizkid had to refund those people who paid for his performances and never got them!

WAEC Relocates GCE Candidates In Edo State Due To Governorship Election

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has disclosed that it has provided venues in Agbor, Delta State and Ore, Ondo state for candidates writing the General Certificate Examination (GCE) on Saturday, September 10 in Edo State due to the Edo state governorship election that is expected to hold on the same day in the centres the candidates were suppose to use for the exam.

This is coming after INEC and security operatives in the state have refuse to grant the request of the council to allow students participating ion the exam and other exam functionaries free movement on that day since movement will be restricted in the state due to the election.
